What impresses me most about DSI is their expertise at procedural coding. They know our payor contracts inside and out, and they can interpret an op report to get the maximum compensation allowable.

With the billing software they implemented for us, our billing and collections process is seamless and we are reimbursed much faster than before. Our over-90-day A/R went from 28% to 6%.

When my colleague and I left a large group to setup our own practice, we really had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Due to our contractual obligations, we had to be out of our old practice and up and running with the new one in just six weeks. DSI was invaluable to us. I really don’t know what we would have done without them.

They guided us through the entire process, step by step. They not only helped us locate our new space, they negotiated the lease and worked with an architect to plan our build out. They assisted us in hiring our staff, and helped us choose a health benefits plan that made sense. They also negotiated all of our payor contracts, and took care of our credentialing, which can be a lot of red tape. I was very glad they took that off our hands.

DSI was also instrumental in setting up our administrative systems, as well. They made a recommendation for our EHR and billing software, building all of our accounting files and training us on the entire system. DSI is directly responsible for renegotiating multiple payor contracts we had in place, and rewriting them in our favor. We were in a situation where we were being under-valued and under-compensated, and DSI was able to go to bat for us and significantly increase our reimbursements. I am convinced we got much better agreements because of DSI’s ability to build our case.

It required a great deal of painstaking analysis and data crunching, and solid negotiating skills. First they took all of our utilization with a particular payor and verified it for appropriate versus over-utilization. That in itself was quite an undertaking. Then they compared the current payor contract rate with Medicare, to see where we were over or under.

DSI proved to be exceptional at finding things our payors would be willing to pay more for. In our case, they looked at our coverage at hospital emergency rooms, and the fact that we have a pretty broad diversity of sub-specialties within our practice. DSI could see that our geographical distribution gave us leverage, as did our special interest in fertility, and our fellowship training in urodynamics and robotics.

DSI was able to write a compelling story about our group outlining our assets and enumerating our overall value. They negotiated 3-year contracts with escalators, substantially increasing our reimbursements. I believe no one was better equipped to get us such favorable terms in every case.

When I left a large practice after 20 years to open my own, I wanted to keep things as simple as possible. I decided to take the opportunity of starting a new practice to go 100% paperless. DSI customized and implemented a practice management software package with an EHR component that completely streamlined my back office.

Since implementing DSI’s solution, I feel much more efficient and a lot less encumbered. Because of the accessibility to my paperless charts, I have the ability to work from many different locations. In fact, anyone on my staff can access charts from any exam room or office area. It’s incredibly seamless and easy to use.

For billing, the DSI software is amazing because it’s all real-time, so the minute the patient leaves, the bill is ready to present to the payor.

The ongoing support and training we get from DSI is phenomenal. They are incredibly responsive to our requests, and they are very good at training us on the system. We are all quite proficient with it, and that saves us a lot of time.

As a sole proprietor you have to be lean and mean, and these tools allow us to do that. We are able handle more patients and provide more care with less staff resources. I am very impressed with what DSI’s software system has allowed me to do as a physician.
