Kiel Usdane
Director of Information Systems
Kiel began with DSI as a systems administrator in 2004 with more than ten years of specialized experience: eight as a network administrator and medical biller for Financial Support Systems, Inc. (FSS), in Tempe, Arizona, and two additional years as a technical support specialist servicing a variety of medical practices using Medisoft EHR solutions. While at FSS, Kiel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Programming and Operating Systems from the University of Phoenix, graduating in 2002. He has steadily taken on more responsibility at DSI and has acquired complete knowledge of our systems, implementing several of them himself. Kiel sets up and maintains client/server applications, network maintenance tools, and Microsoft WindowsNT/2000/2003-server networks. He currently maintains a network of 20+ servers and over 100 workstations for DSI. With more than 10 years of medical billing experience, Kiel is responsible for ensuring HIPAA compliance throughout our EHR systems, and he is the technical expert who transitions DSI’s physician billing clients from their previous EHR software to Aprima. He played an instrumental role in developing, testing, and launching RapidDoc FSP, the exclusive DSI software add-on to Aprima. Kiel’s top priorities are to maintain virtually 100% system uptime and ensure restorability through daily and monthly backups and secure data encryption. Kiel is also responsible for providing a smooth operating experience for the end user. Married with two children, Kiel enjoys spending time with his family, and he has a lifelong love of comic books. He hopes to attend the internationally famous ComicCon convention in San Diego someday.
Pam Mast
Project Manager/Implementation Specialist
Pam’s long and varied background in medical administration, billing, and new practice mergers and start-ups qualifies her as an expert project manager and Aprima implementation specialist. Beginning in 1988, she participated in the early development of electronic billing, working “on the front lines” in a California billing clearinghouse that processed millions of claims. In 1992, she became the office manager for Bertram Feingold, M.D., staying in that position until 2006. Dr. Feingold owned a medical services building, which gave Pam years of experience managing the process of practice start-ups. She assisted Dr. James C. Nauman in opening one of Arizona’s first Independent Medical Evaluations practices, working as a consultant to him until 2006. Similarly, she facilitated Dr. Elinor Schottstaedt with the start-up of a sleep lab, one of the first to service patients living between Prescott, AZ, and Flagstaff, AZ, and assisted with that practice management for 8 years. Beginning in 2006 as a medical administrator for a 4-physician gastroenterology group, Pam was instrumental in expanding that practice into Arizona Digestive Health, a 35-physician super group operating under one tax ID number. In her capacity, Pam implemented and networked practice management software for 170+ employees through 13 office locations. Very active in the medical community, Pam is a member of the Bones Society and BlueCross/BlueShield of Arizona’s MOSAIC peer review group. She serves on the board of directors for Allmed, a durable medical equipment company, and is certified in Personality Plus management, as well as the CPME equivalent through MGMA. She loves working with people and strategizing EHR solutions that will help them find a faster, easier, more efficient way of doing their job with Aprima.
